So, this is the first of four lists, for what I call the Ultimate Toy List for Kids. All of these lists include toys that are not screen or tablet related and will keep your young one’s active outdoors.
Research has shown that outdoor play improves physical development, increases imagination and creative play, and helps children to gain knowledge and appreciation for nature.
Links to more toys to keep your kids active indoors, creative, learning, and exploring will be listed below! Most of these will be for children between the ages of 3 and 10. The vast majority of these my kids have either owned or played with at a friend/family member’s house. The others I am actually saving for Christmas, birthdays, Easter, etc.

Toys to Keep Kids Active Outdoors
This was designed with family in mind! Can fit multiple children, or parents and child! Maximum weight is 700lbs.
As a child, my sister and I would manually fill EACH balloon. These are SO much easier! Hundreds within minutes for our large family water balloon wars!
One of my boys’ favorite gifts and stays up year-round at their grandparents’ house! If your kids watch American Ninja Warrior, they will love this. For ages 3 and up.
We love our trampoline! Even my husband and I enjoy playing on it. Safety first, hence the net! Love the basketball hoop!
This sprinkler is the perfect addition to a trampoline! Summertime fun that will keep the kids cool while outside!
Heavy duty zipline kit for kids! Money back within 30 days if you’re not completely satisfied. I can’t wait to see my kids’ faces when they open this one at Christmas!
Perfect for your little ones who love to climb! For ages 3-10 and a max weight of 150lbs.
These are so funny and so much fun! For ages 8 and up.
This is a big hit with my kids! And a great gift for Christmas, Easter, and birthdays!
Awesome summer activity! My kids have a smaller version of this, and it kept them entertained all summer.
We had one of these inside our house for 2 years before we ran out of space and had to move it outside. Our girls LOVE playing house. Our boys LOVE climbing on the roof.
This cedar swing set is perfect for your little ones! It took my husband several days to assemble but it has been so worth it!
We love bubble wands but, let’s face it, those get poured out in 10 seconds. This eliminates the bubble waste and tears!
This has been a hit in our house and even our two-year-old enjoys it. Recommended for ages 5 and up. Word to the wise, keep it away from the roof to avoid the tears.
Easy entertainment! My kids are just now starting to enjoy organized sports. We bought a basketball goal in the spring, and we have had so much fun as a family. This one has a height adjustment so it will grow with your children.
This portable soccer goal is easy to set up, easy to take down, and fun for young kids! I’ve never been great at soccer, but I have four stars in the making.
Nostalgia! This wiffle ball set was my childhood. I have so many memories playing with my sisters, parents, and grandparents. Such fond memories ❤
Be careful turning a corner in our house, you may be hit by one of these arrows! We love this bow & arrow set! Each of our oldest three have one but we’ve had to buy replacement arrows several times.
Even in the wintertime we need outdoor activities! This is perfect to keep you child active in the cold weather.
We are a very active family! We play frisbee a lot. My four-year-old has become quite good at it!
More fun for the cold weather! It’s so difficult to make snowballs with heavy snow gloves, and I don’t want my kids removing them. This is the perfect solution!
All my kiddos fit in this sled together, for now. Simple, easy toy to keep your child active!
I LOVE this because it can be used for both snow and sand! Use it in the snow then take it to the beach during the summer! Make an igloo or a sandcastle!
My kids have begged for a boomerang, but I’ve been scared to buy a traditional one. This is the perfect compromise! For ages 6 and up.
I hope you find this list helpful as you shop for your little one! I tried to include toys for each season. I know it’s only September but I’m already thinking about Christmas/Holiday Shopping! I can’t help myself!
