25 Toys to Keep Your Kids Active Indoors
As a stay-at-home-mom of four, I work hard to limit my children’s screentime and keep them active and engaged. Playtime is very essential in the children’s physical, mental, and emotional development.
In particular, research has shown that playing indoors and being active encourages creativity and critical thinking!
With four young kids, I honestly prefer outdoor activities. After a full day at school, they need an outlet for the built-up energy. They need to run, play, and be wild without wrecking the house. However, when weather doesn’t permit, we have to be creative indoors.
Unfortunately, when we are inside, my kids are more likely to crave and beg for more screentime. And the more they get, the more they want. It’s a vicious cycle.
So, with this in mind, I have created the ultimate indoor toy list for kids. This includes 25 toys that will keep children entertained and participating in playtime indoors, rather than staring at a screen.
I especially love this list because we own several of these toys and we have spent hours playing together! They get so excited when mommy gets to play with them! I know they will outgrow wanting to play with me, so I’m soaking it up while it lasts.
So, below is my list of 25 toys to keep your kids active while playing indoors. These toys are best for ages 3-10, depending on developmental level. But my husband and I enjoy these activities too.
After all, age is only relative. 😉 Or so I hear.
