Attached is the dosage sheet I use at home for fever medications for my children. I would advise you to talk to your doctor prior to medicating your child with these medications, as there are some conditions where they may not be advised.
If you are concerned about dosing correctly, you may print off this sheet and take to your child’s doctor’s appointment with you and they can highlight the correct dosage.
I always recommend caregivers to try to dose their children by weight, rather than age, but both are included on this sheet.
Some other things to keep in mind:
- Tylenol (#ad) can be given every 4-6 hours.
- Motrin (#ad) can be given every 6-8 hours.
- Motrin is for children greater than 6 months of age.
- Never give Aspirin to a child younger than 12.
- Infants 3 months and under ALWAYS needs to see a doctor for fever
